Sam Kenyon is a nature-friendly farmer with a strong interest in wildlife and the future of our farmed landscapes. She worked as Project Officer for the Curlew Connections Wales project in North Wales, growing farmer engagement, studying bird behaviour and nest finding and engaging with local schools.
At this Bird Group Talk Sam will be talking about her personal experiences of farming with nature on her farm in Denbighshire, on the River Elwy, where she has Sandpiper and Little Ringed Plover in spring. Sam has worked with around 60 farmers with Curlew on their farms, advising them on Curlew-friendly farming. The talk will incorporate her hands-on understanding of farming and food production, along with her determination to find ways for agriculture, wildlife and rural communities to thrive alongside one another.
Everyone is welcome, and the entrance fee of £3 includes the talk (free for under 18s), light refreshments, and the opportunity to chat with like-minded folk and the speakers themselves. We usually have a raffle, so please bring a prize if you are able to. £1 per ticket. We look forward to seeing you there!
