Green Connections Powys was a collaborative Wildlife Trusts project across Powys working with community groups, small businesses, landowners and local councils to take action to address climate change and biodiversity loss and create a nature recovery network across the county.
Together we surveyed and mapped wildlife, provided advise on habitat management and nature-based solutions, helped people encourage more wildlife into their communities and offered opportunities for upskilling and volunteering.
We began the project in April 2021 and it ran until March 2023, involving Radnorshire, Montgomeryshire and the Brecknock office of the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. This project received funding through the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
