Leave a gift in your Will

Make your legacy a wilder Montgomeryshire...

What is your special wildlife moment? The exhilaration of seeing a fox on the path ahead that hasn't seen you... the beauty of bluebells caught in dappled sunlight through overhanging trees... or seeing your Grandchildren discovering a ladybird for the first time? As Montgomeryshire's leading conservation body, the Trust works hard to protect those special wildlife moments for future generations to enjoy but we need your help to do this.

Every gift, large or small, can make a real difference to wildlife.

Your legacy to the Trust will help us secure important habitats and species through the purchase and management of nature reserves; be an advocate for wildlife on a local and national level; and engage with people of all ages to inspire an interest in wildlife.

David Attenborough My Wild Life
As President Emeritus of The Wildlife Trusts, I’ve seen first-hand how much these marvellous organisations do to nurture and protect the wildlife on our doorsteps. By making a legacy to Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust, you’ll be doing something hugely important for the future, for wildlife, and for us all.”
Sir David Attenborough

The Collot Legacy

In 1996, the Trust received a legacy of £1 million from Mrs Collot. Practically overnight, MWT was transformed from being a grass-roots, volunteer-run group, into an organisation with staff and resources to fundraise, deal with conservation issues and work with the community and schools to educate people about nature.

The Judi Stretton Legacy

MWT Conservation Officer Tammy Stretton's late mother Judi was a passionate lifelong naturalist and a staunch supporter of wildlife conservation. Though her estate was modest, she bequeathed the Trust £1,000 in her Will. This gift helped purchase Dolforwyn Woods Nature Reserve, a very fitting and lasting legacy.

The Peter Murdoch Legacy

Longstanding MWT supporter, Posh Pete (Murdoch), who volunteered at Dyfi Osprey Project from 2009, left a substantial gift to the Trust in his Will when he sadly passed away in 2022. His legacy safeguarded the conservation of the Dyfi Ospreys and the running and delivery of the Dyfi Osprey Project and Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve for many years.

The Skelton Legacy

In 2016, a £24,818 legacy from Dawn Skelton proved a lifeline, funding the Nurtured by Nature project at Severn Farm Pond Nature Reserve when no other grant was available. The forerunner to our award-winning Wild Skills Wild Spaces, this brilliant project offered supported volunteering, confidence-building and wildlife skills education to people who would normally struggle to engage with nature.
