Montgomeryshire Habitats Management Group 2025 Symposium
About the event
Calling all conservationists. Whether you have a small plot of land you manage with wildlife in mind, or you want inspiration for nature-friendly gardening practices – or indeed if you’re just interested in the topic of habitat management, join Montgomeryshire Habitats Management Group (MHMG), Associated Partner of the Trust, for a day of inspiring and informative talks by passionate local conservationists on the theme of ‘Managing Habitats from the Ground Up’.
Taking place at 1st Clive’s Own Welshpool Scout Headquarters & Community Centre (COWSHACC), this indoor event will include talks from the following guest speakers:
-
Eddie Bailey & Paul Jupp from RhizoPhyllia: ‘Of Meadows and Microbes – Nature’s Elixir for Life’
-
Dewis Morris, Severn Rivers Trust: ‘Small-scale Wetland Value and Management’
-
Clare Hill, Planton Farm: ‘What Really is Regenerative Agriculture and Why is it Growing in Popularity?’
-
Nicola Wheeeler & Simon Cope, Oakwood Ecology: ‘Scrub, the Unsung Hero of Habitats’
-
Simon James, Small Woods: ‘Woodland as Habitat: Valuing Nature & Managing Biodiversity’
Doors open at 9am, with the first talk starting at 9.30am, and the day is expected to finish at around 4pm. Exact timings and additional information will be communicated to event attendees closer to the time.
Tickets cost £20, including refreshments – please bring your own lunch. (MHMG believe the ticket price represents good value for money, but they would not want anyone to miss out simply because of cost, so if the ticket price is a concern to anyone interested in attending to contact them in confidence to chat about possible options, in order to make the day as welcoming and inclusive as possible.)
