Climate & Ecological Emergency - individual action

Climate change is a global issue and can be overwhelming but we need to rally together and take positive action

There is still time to make a difference and lots of small actions can, together, make a big impact. We hope this page will give you lots of ideas. It is certainly not an exhaustive list; if you think we've missed something, please let us know!

  • Choose financial products which don’t invest in fossil fuels & other climate damaging activities
  • Walk, cycle or take public transport instead of driving, whenever you can
  • Take fewer flights – particularly short haul
  • Reduce, re-use and recycle – the less you consume, the smaller your carbon footprint
  • Avoid fast fashion – wear clothes at least 30 times, support sustainable fashion brands and/or buy from charity shops
  • Insulate your home to reduce the amount of time your spend heating it
  • Go energy efficient – choose A+++ appliances
  • Switch to a renewable energy supplier
  • Install solar panels and/or other renewable micro-generation
  • Eat less meat and/or make sure it is locally sourced and grass-fed
  • Reduce your micro-plastics production – wash with a Guppy Friend and/or Cora Ball
  • Change your search engine – choose one which is carbon neutral, such as Ecosia
  • Support The Wildlife Trusts' campaign for a Wilder Future
  • Talk to your MP about the support you need to create climate solutions
