30 Days Wild

The UK's biggest nature challenge

30 Days Wild is The Wildlife Trusts' annual nature challenge where we ask the nation to do one 'wild' thing a day every day throughout June.

Your daily Random Acts of Wildness can be anything you like - litter-picking, birdwatching, puddle-splashing, you name it! But to help you on your way, The Wildlife Trusts will also provide you with a FREE postal or digital pack of goodies to inspire your wild month - including an activity passport and a wallchart to track your progress. Alongside all of these benefits, taking part in 30 Days Wild is scientifically proven to make you feel happier, healthier, and more connected to nature.

In 2020, more than half a million people got involved, from families and couples, to teachers, care homes and workplaces. Everyone's invited!

I’m a big fan of 30 Days Wild– I love being part of the surge of enthusiasm that emanates from everyone involved! Get creative and find 30 new ways to be inspired by the beauty of the outdoors and nature or be entertained by trying out new nature activities. It is especially important if you live in the city as nature is all around, just waiting to be found.

What is 30 Days Wild?

30 Days Wild is a fun, feel-good challenge run by The Wildlife Trusts every June. Back for its seventh year, it brings people closer to nature where they live, taking small actions that can collectively have a big impact! From little things such as watching a bee from your window or feeding the birds, to giving up single-use plastics for a month or digging a pond in your garden: every Random Act of Wildness counts. If you want to see what others are getting up to, just check out #30DaysWild on social media.

What's in your 30 Days Wild pack?

When you sign up, you'll be given some goodies to help you get the best out of your wild month. You’ll have a wallchart, wildlife bingo, an activity passport and a nature table template. We’ll send you lots more resources and ideas leading up to June too.

Why take part

While nature needs us more than ever, the reverse is also true. We’re all part of nature, and it should be a part of our lives. Our five year study undertaken with the University of Derby showed that people feel happier and healthier after taking part in 30 Days Wild and for months after too.

What is a Random Act of Wildness?

A Random Act of Wildness is any thing that you can do in an average day to bring a little nature into your life. They can take a few seconds, a few minutes, or if you lose yourself completely, a few hours! We've put a few ideas below - but you can make up your own, too!
