MWT have been awarded a grant under the Welsh Government Scheme – Arwain. The project’s purpose is to reach out to young people in Welshpool and Newtown in order to connect a new generation to their local wildlife sites and public open spaces through the means of art.

Arts Oasis aims to “re-wild” the younger community surrounding their nature reserves and public open spaces. Through their better understanding of the Trust’s commitment, it aims to reduce anti-social behaviour on these valuable spaces managed especially for their wildlife conservation value.

MWT want to recruit experienced community artists, who working as part of the Arts Oasis project team from the Wildlife Trust will engage young people, volunteers and mentors in these projects advertised.

Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust want artists to help develop their creativity and explore their ideas for meaningful environmental art interventions with the community groups, college and schools identified in these job descriptions. they will design, create and install a series of environmental artwork that will enhance a variety of nature reserves and public access green spaces in the Newtown and Welshpool area.

The projects have been linked to groups, your applications will be selected by the groups engaged.
