Biodiversity Matters
OUR MISSION
The Trust currently manages and cares for 20 Nature Reserves within the county, totalling some 550ha in area. These reserves are a showcase of some of Montgomeryshire's finest remnants of prime wildlife habitat.

In common with all other Wildlife Trusts, Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust is an independent charity limited by guarantee. It is supported by approximately 1,400 members and currently employs 12 staff supported by approximately 50 active volunteers.
The Trust operates in close partnership with the other 46 UK Wildlife Trusts, under the guidance of the umbrella organisation - the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts (RSWT). In recent years we have formed a strong allegiance with our 5 fellow Welsh Wildlife Trusts, a partnership known as Wildlife Trusts Wales (WTW). This important cohesive move has given us greater national strength in our collective work for biodiversity across Wales. Wildlife Trusts Wales has a national Conservation Plan that sets out our collective conservation priorities for Wales over the next ten years.
Biodiversity Matters II has been written to complement the aspirations of the Wildlife Trust Wales national Conservation Plan, and as such will be monitored against both local and national performance.
