Mission Statement

Since 1982, the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust has been the leading voluntary organisation promoting wildlife conservation in Montgomeryshire.

The Trust currently manages and cares for 18 Nature Reserves within the county, totalling some 500ha in area. These reserves are a showcase of some of Montgomeryshire’s finest remnants of prime wildlife habitat.

The VISION of the Trust is:
An environment rich in wildlife for everyone

The MISSION of the Trust is to:
Rebuild biodiversity and engage people with their environment

The AIM of the Trust is:
To be an active and influential wildlife champion

Our OBJECTIVES are:
1. To stand up for wildlife and the environment
2. To create and enhance wildlife havens
3. To inspire people about the natural world
4. To foster sustainable living

Underpinned by operational objectives:
5. To be widely recognised and respected for our role and work
6. To grow resources for action and advocacy
7. To cooperate effectively throughout the movement


 

We see our unique ROLE as:
People taking action for local wildlife

Our BELIEFS are that:
1. Local wildlife conservation is our core business
2. Understanding and enjoying wildlife improves the quality of people's lives
3. It is important for us to be inclusive and accessible
4. We will only achieve our mission by cooperating with others
5. Our collective voice and image is representative of our membership
